Ariana: “I feel like flying.”
Mina, I can’t wait to come back in summer
and swim in that big elliptical pool.

Ariana: “I feel the presence of God in the stones.”

Valerie:” The night my boyfriend and I slept in the cave was one of
the most
memorable days of my life. He asked me to marry him. I said, ‘I accept.’
And it happened by the light of the fire in your romantic cave.”

Bird watchers will be delighted with the many species of birds flitting
through the bowers of flowers. One may linger in bed in the morning
and watch wildlife through the open French doors. Near the house is
a cave with a soft bed of river sand and a fire pit where visitors have
evening dinner parties, a cave of giant boulders with crevices opening
to the sky through which one can view the stars. One can hike by the
light of the moon, whereupon the rocks take on new fantastic shapes
unseen by day. On moonless nights, one marvels at the intense
canopy of stars and the fiery streaks of meteor showers.

William and Mabel: “The white wisteria was in bloom on the pergola
outside the dining room. On one side was purple wisteria mixed with red rambling
roses, then a hedge of purple lavender. The scent was heavenly, against a backdrop of mountains of boulders. “
Randi: “Oh my God!! Your touches in the house and nature’s touches
outside. Spectacular! Thanks, soooo much!! Very unexpected magic everywhere.”
<
Kevin and Debi: “Thank you for opening your home for our retreat from
hurried lives. The rest and relaxation this special place provides, bring
the peace and comfort we so desire. May the Lord continue to less you.”
The Emnaces: “Thank you Dale. This place is such a blessing. You
have used the gifts and talents God has given you so beautifully.”

A terraced garden in the shape of a crescent, has 150 roses of every hue
imaginable, enclosed
by a hedge of purple French lavender which blooms twelve months of the year.

The master bedroom terrace overlooks the Zen terrace, two gnarled trees and
raked sand enclosed by boulders. It’s perfect for al fresco dining.
In the west one can see the snow
capped peak of San Gorgonio, the highest mountain in Southern California.

A grove of Italian Stone pines forms the background for the terraces of roses.
The roses bloom from late March through December.

Ariana, a ballerina: “Jump in, the water’s nice and warm!”
Susan and Margaret: “Your home is an ideal retreat for all the things
we love to do: hiking, reading and writing, yoga, cooking, and now scrabble!
It’s rare to find a vacation spot that enables both stillness and
activity—all the comforts of a temporary home.”

Gabriella: “I loved the furnishings, the Tunisian and Moroccan carpets
and urns. The paintings on silk are quite unusual. . . and the use of
exotic colors everywhere. I feel I’ve visited a foreign country.”

Dale: “The shadow under the boulder at my right
is the window into our cave.”
Maria: “ It’s more than what we expected. Thank you for your
hospitality. Magical,
peaceful, serene, tranquil, and very private. Just what we needed. The kids
loved
picnicking in the cave and playing Indians. They reminisced of when their
father was around and did this with them.”

A two hundred year old Joshua Tree, saved from a certain death on
a construction site, Dale moved twenty miles to the bedroom terrace.

The terraces of 150 rose bushes form a dramatic contrast
to the surrounding quartz monzonite boulders.

Each room has its own private terrace.

Sabu. Dogs are welcome at Villa dei Fiori.
Marion: “The cave is such a surprise. You feel like you’re a
hundred
miles from civilization. In another time. We spent the night.
It’s a great place to be with the man you love.”

Sterling: “Yes indeed just as magical if not more than I’d hoped for. The heavenly sleep in
the bed, the fifteen year old garden a treat. The meals on the terrace could have lasted
forever. Hanging out in the cave with friends before the fire couldn’t have
been more fun. Thanks for sharing this palace of magic”

Ariana: “The pool shaped like an oval, was so
harmonious with the boulders.”

A riana: “I love to feel the stones with my bare feet.
