Tom: “We hiked about five miles back into the wilderness, must have gained
a couple of thousand feet of altitude. We saw a family of Bighorn
sheep and discovered a Pinon pine nearly 50 feet tall. I never
knew that trees could grow that tall in the desert.
It must be several hundred years old.”
